Tips to Charging a Car Battery
Our team at Volvo Cars Edinburg loves giving our community tips about car care. If you find your vehicle with a dead battery on an early Edinburg, TX morning, there are a few ways to charge it. You can use a battery charger and jumper cables, or jumper cables and another car. We will focus on using a battery charger but it is essentially the same when charging with a car.
Connect the red cable from the charger to the positive terminal on the battery. Then, connect the black cable to the negative terminal. You want to do this with the charger off.
Once you are sure the connections are secure, then you set it to the correct charging rate for the battery in your car (which is in the vehicle’s owner’s manual). You then turn on the battery charger and wait until your vehicle is fully charged.
